Quick and Easy Boy Birthday Card

Ave was invited to her first birthday party today so I threw this card together at the last minute. And guess what, she wanted to go home after 25 minutes. I cajoled her to stay for the cake and presents...I think if we had done the activity first (swimming), she would not have got so bored especially as the only girl there!

Positive note of the day:  Got my hair done but they went darker when I said go lighter and the grays at my ears are still there (and very obvious against the darker hair!). Think I am going to cause a stink and go get it fixed since for a three hour investment, I want satisfaction...ha!

Positive note of the day: Four day weekend will start with me getting my roots done. It is becoming more of a necessity and not a treat to get this done. Aging sucks!

Just using up more stash with a dollar store stamp I picked up some time ago and finally got inky!

Positive note of the day: I have been far too productive lately at work and that ain't good...ha! I trained today which I haven't done in ages and it went real well despite my rustiness!

It's All Me Baby...

In my bid to use it up, my focus today is using up my Basic Grey Perhaps. I didn't really know what to use to complete the pages, so I picked out some more of my bridal photos (even though these were taken before the age of digital cameras, there are a ton of shots available)! I chose to essentially have the same layout with a smattering of doilies, candy drops and that pretty Stampendous flower as a focus.

Positive note of the day: A very nice Mother's Day yesterday with some pretty gifts from the kids (any number of school-made crafts) and a present of a new dress from the hubs.

Charlotte as a Pink Pirate!

I used some non-traditional autumnal paper (Indian Summer from Basic Grey) to play off the pinks in Charlotte's costume in this picture. Paired with the oranges and kraft cardstock, I quite like the outcome.



Positive note of the day: My boss continues to show confidence in my management and analytical skills but now I am writing after hours just to keep up since my days are chock full of meetings. At least I can charge for my time!
